Here is why:
• The sound heads and the complete tape guide of the belt machines and their cleaning deserve special attention!
• Only when everything is clean, the highest possible recording and playback quality can be achieved!
• cleaning with the round cotton swabs is barely possible, especially with the tightly built Revox!

Revox A77, difficult to clean

As you can see on the picture, there is almost no space  between the tonehead and the front panel. To approach  the toneheads you almost need to hold the cotton swbs upright. This condition makes it extremely difficult or even impossible to clean.

The cleaning handle made by us, has a angled handle and a rectangular felt, you can get it everywhere. The contact surface to the sound head is much better.
1 μm of dirt film (is not readily visible) already provides up to 5 dB damping. 
The Revox A77 can only be cleaned properly with our cleaning handles
Never use harsh detergents such as Nitro or acetone
Why is a thorough and complete Cleaning of the toneheads so important?
• Lubricating bands  can create  up to 20 dB or more loss
• It is possible that the toneheads get blocked
• Dirt can cause a failure of one or more  channels
• Limitation of the frequency response, by Impurities on the recording or playback head
• A sound without brilliance, the more dirt and abrasion occurs
• Soiling of band-leading parts
• Pollution of new belts due to old abrasion.
• Increased synchronization fluctuations and slowed down Reels, to a standstill, by impurities

A cleaning fluid developed by us is specially adapted to the abrasion of smearing tapes. Various alcohols and surfactants ensure easy and thorough cleaning of the heads and tape guide.

Demagnetizer

Just as important as cleaning the heads and tape guide is demagnetizing!
Magnetized metal parts of the tape guide greatly reduced the signal-to-noise ratio. You hear a lot of noise in the recording or playback. Your recordings will be deleted during playback. If you  demagnetized every time you are cleaning your device. You are always on the safe side!
