Do not drive a classic car up to the speed limit or drive with the engine oil and other operating materials50,000 km. In the same way, the treasures of Studer and Revox should be inspected and checked at regular intervals in the workshop.

Maintenance at revox-online includes:
O Check all parameters for compliance with the manufacturers instructions
O Checking and cleaning the switch contacts and potentiometer

O Checking and adjusting the braking torque
O Check the tightening torques of the lifting magnets on tape machines and tape decks
O Renewal of the plain bearing oils for tape machines and record players
O Checking the synchronization fluctuations
O Check the tracking force, wear and alignment of the pickups
O Replacement of defective lights, fuses and straps

If major unforeseen defects occur during maintenance, we will contact you to clarify the further procedure. Even these seemingly easy activities should only be put into expert hands. An acidic oil is quickly used which etches away the contacts of the switches and pots and makes a subsequent repair very expensive.
Often you also save on high-quality spare parts, because cheap radial electrolytic capacitors are used where axial capacitors belong. We used axial capacitors with axial bypass capacitors, even if they cost five to ten times as much. We at revox-online prefer to manufacture spare parts ourselves than to use poor-quality spare parts that are not suitable. We do not compromise on this!
You can only expect the best possible quality in recording and playback if the devices are regularly serviced.
