Tape Move Sensor

for all Revox B77 and PR99 MK I

Two receiving and one transmitting diode, three resistors, two ICs and one capacitor are all there. The optional direction of rotation detection is already included.

The version with aluminum plate is required for the Revox B77 with steel traverse. Here is only screwed and plugged. It is really that easy!

This reflector foil is required for the optical scanning to work. You will receive a suitable self-adhesive and punched foil for each new tape move sensor. Clean the engine before sticking. Nothing else to do. If you glue the black areas over the three openings on the motor, you can cut the openings freely - but it is not necessary. The openings are not for cooling.

If you hear repetitive rhythmic croaks coming from the speaker, something like this

uuuh     uuuh     uuuh

or at the higher speed

uh  uh  uh  uh  uh  uh

then the tape move sensor should be replaced!
