General overhaul / revision

A general overhaul, revision not only ensures the perfect sound, it also serves to increase the value of your Revox and Studer devices.
The general overhaul is much more extensive than a mere repair and is generally recommended for devices with an age from 20 years. A general overhaul not only ensures that the devices retain their current value over time, but also serves to increase the value of the device, which may well exceed that of the original price at the time and will have a positive effect on later sales!
A general overhaul at revox-online includes:
O Checking and replacing worn components
O Cleaning of printed circuit boards, contacts, displays and function groups
O Cleaning and repair of the toggle, rotary and pressure switches and pots
O control and revision of all loosening points
O Exchange of all electrolytic capacitors and TTPs
O Exchange all open trimmers, even if they seem to be still good
O Replacement of mechanical wear parts
O Cleaning of the front panels, the controls and the housing
O Check the device-specific parameters such as synchronism, quiescent current, frequency response and so on

During a general overhaul / revision, we not only replace the defective components from revox-online, we replace all aging and wear-prone components and components which, in our experience, are responsible for over 90% of failures. In addition, all electrolytic capacitors receive foil bypass capacitors if they cannot be completely replaced by foil capacitors!
The character of the Revox and Studer devices is retained. A Revox B750 will still sound warm after the revision, maybe a little more analytical, a little more powerful but never cold! A Revox B750 remains recognizable!
We at revox-online are so convinced of our work that we give you a full 1-year guarantee for a general overhaul that goes far beyond the statutory twelve-month guarantee. Wear parts such as tape heads, belts, motors, analog instruments, laser units are excluded.
For further questions we are happy to help you!
