Tape heads

The position of the tape heads has relaxed a bit!
We at revox-online have found a second manufacturer with photovox who exclusively produces revox-compatible standard and butterfly clay heads for us. Of course, the recording and playback heads fit 100% electrically and in terms of their dimensions.No adjustments need to be made to the device. Swap heads, re-calibrate (yes, we can't spare you the calibration), that's it!
For the time being we will only offer 2-track tape heads. We do not yet know whether we will also offer 4-track heads later. It's all a question of cost. And we cannot and do not want to tie up any more capital now during Corona times!

Butterfly heads

Standard heads can still be bought, but butterfly heads suitable for Revox are no longer available.We wanted to remedy this and also offer you butterfly heads. We have had many inquiries from Revox PR99 and C270 owners about butterfly heads. These discerning customers want to keep using butterfly heads for their recordings.

If you own a PR99 or a C270, you don't want to and shouldn't make any compromises!
We look forward to helping you here too!So that you may be able to convert from "normal" 2-track tape heads to butterfly tape heads, we are also on the job of suitable erase heads. We do not yet know whether we will have full-track mono-erase heads manufactured, as is very often the case in the devices. To do this, the respective oscillator board of the tape machine would have to be adapted.
Danger! Particularly important! You do not have to make any adjustments to the respective Revox tape machine. No resistors, no trimmers and no capacitors have to be changed. Often resistors are soldered over the coils of the tape heads or on the circuit boards, here you actually have to try whether you still need this resistor. The resistor or the RC element is required to counteract the increasing impedance of the audio head coil.
